David Simpson

Managing Director

David is a Solicitor and currently the Managing Director of Simpson Quinn Lawyers, having previously been a Partner with Damian Quinn since 2006.  David joined the firm in 2002.

David attained a Bachelor of Arts / Law from the University of Tasmania in 1996, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. David was admitted as a Legal Practitioner (Barrister and Solicitor) of the Supreme Court of Tasmania after a period undertaking articles with the Tasmanian Legal Aid Commission.

David relocated to Queensland at the end of 1998 and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and a legal practitioner on the roll of the High Court of Australia.

David’s areas of practice include commercial and general litigation, building disputes, insolvency, administrative law, regulatory matters relating to business, dispute resolution, commercial and property law, wills and estates, family law and de-facto matters.

David’s work has seen him appear in various jurisdictions both in Queensland and interstate, at both Courts of First Instance and Appeal Courts (State and Federal Courts), and Tribunals including the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. David has experience in a variety of civil matters and has acted in matters of legal significance including applying for Special Leave to the High Court, after applications from lower Courts including the Queensland Court of Appeal.

David spends his time outside of practice with his family, playing golf and enjoys the outdoors and outdoor pursuits.

David volunteers his time with sporting groups, undertakes pro bono work and is currently the chairman of the Conduct Committee for the Maroochy River Golf Club.

Isabella Mansell

Isabella is a Director of Simpson Quinn Lawyers, having become a Principal in 2023 after first joining the firm in 2013.

Since joining the firm, Isabella rapidly built on her knowledge of property law and commercial and business law. Isabella has handled an extensive range of property and business transactions, from undertaking boutique residential developments to acting for nation-wide businesses in their commercial and corporate matters.

Isabella enjoys providing pragmatic advice to her clients which she regularly translates into commercial and practical solutions for her clients.  

Isabella’s main areas of practice are property law and commercial and business law, with a particular interest management rights and body corporate law and disputes. In addition, Isabella’s areas of practice include both residential and commercial strata and land developments, commercial and retail leasing, insolvency and securities law. 

Isabella obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Southern Queensland followed by her Graduate Diploma in Law Practice. Isabella is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and is a legal practitioner on the roll of the High Court of Australia.

Outside of practice, Isabella enjoys spending time with her young family.

Redmond Jones

Director

Redmond is a Director of Simpson Quinn Lawyers, having become a Principal in 2023 and joined the firm in 2019. Redmond obtained his Bachelor of Laws (Hons) (1st Class) from Victoria University of Wellington in 2012 and was admitted to the New Zealand roll of solicitors the following year.

Prior to relocating to Queensland, Redmond was employed as a solicitor in commercial litigation role in Auckland, before taking a position as an Associate at an international Legal500 firm in Doha, Qatar. Thereafter, Redmond worked at the Brisbane office of another international firm before moving to the Sunshine Coast.

Redmond relocated to Queensland in 2017 and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and a legal practitioner on the roll of the High Court of Australia.

Redmond’s areas of expertise include commercial litigation, construction disputes, insolvency debt recovery and family law.

Redmond enjoys spending time with his young family, as well as playing basketball and kitesurfing.

Damian Quinn

Solicitor

Damian is a Special Counsel of Simpson Quinn Lawyers, having been Principal of the firm since 1997.

Damian’s focus is in the area of property and commercial law, with a particular interest in the sale and purchase of body corporate management rights businesses. 

A substantial part of the firm’s work involves acting for onsite managers and bodies corporate and Damian has extensive experience in all things management rights has served his clients well given the unique nature of management rights and the impact of regulation on day-to-day operations.

Aside from his focus in property and commercial legal work, Damian works with clients in the area of estate planning and succession law.

Damian attained his Bachelor of Laws at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and commenced practice on the Sunshine Coast in 1994 following a career with the Queensland Magistrates Courts Service. Damian is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and a legal practitioner on the roll of the High Court of Australia. Damian is also a member of the Australian College of Strata Lawyers and is a regular presenter at management rights industry forums.

Damian has been a member of the Sunshine Coast community since 1980 and is involved in various community service organisations on the Sunshine Coast, including the Rotary Club of Maroochydore.

Leshaye Bosomworth

Solicitor

Leshaye joined Simpson Quinn in 2024 as a Solicitor in our Commercial and Property Law team.

Leshaye graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Law (Honours) and Arts majoring in International Relations and Japanese from the University of Queensland.

She has lived on the Sunshine Coast her whole life and completed her Supervised Legal Traineeship in Maroochydore. During that time Leshaye gained experience in various areas of general practice and particularly enjoys Commercial and Property Law. Following the completion of her Supervised Legal Traineeship Leshaye was admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland and is a legal practitioner on the roll of the High Court of Australia. Leshaye takes great pride in assisting clients through complex transactions to achieve smooth and successful outcomes.

Leshaye enjoys live music, yoga and dance. Prior to beginning her legal career Leshaye was classically trained in ballet and now enjoys casual classes after the workday.

Erika Moylan

Conveyancer

Erika joined the dedicated team at Simpson Quinn Lawyers in 2024 as a Conveyancer assisting clients with both commercial and residential property transactions.

Already having extensive experience in the realm of property transactions, Erika’s role as the firms Conveyancer is a natural fit. Prior to joining Simpson Quinn Lawyers, Erika found her niche in the legal sector working for a large Sunshine Coast settlements agency as a settlement clerk and team leader for nine years. After a hiatus from property settlements, Erika furthered her knowledge in property law working as an assistant for a mortgage brokerage. When the opportunity arose to expand upon her interest in property law, Erika moved back into the legal sector joining the team at Simpson Quinn Lawyers. With a career in the legal sector spanning over a decade, Erika’s knowledge of the ‘behind the scenes’ aspects of loan approvals/discharges and settlements is a valuable resource to her clients.

Erika enjoys the challenges that can arise in property matters and working through these to ensure that client’s matters progress smoothly and stress-free.

In her spare time Erika enjoys time with her dogs, outdoor activities and has a passion for all things baking.

Georgia Page-Warr

Paralegal

Georgia joined Simpson Quinn Lawyers in 2016 and is a Paralegal primarily assisting David Simpson.

Having worked in the legal industry for over 15 years, Georgia has experience across a broad range of practice areas, however her primary focus and interest lies in Wills and Estates.

Outside of work, Georgia enjoys staying active outdoors and spending quality time with her nieces and nephews.

Kasie Evans

Paralegal

Kasie is a Paralegal with Simpson Quinn Lawyers having joined the firm in 2012.

With over 11 years of experience in the industry, Kasie has gained knowledge in various areas of law, however these days Kasie primarily assists in business and property law matters, particularly working closely on the firms Body Corporate matters and management rights transactions.

Kasie’s skill and knowledge ensure that matters are handled seamlessly and effectively, resulting in prompt and dependable solutions for the firm’s clients.

In her spare time Kasie enjoys spending time with her young family.

Brianna Horsnell

Law Clerk

Brianna joined the litigation team at Simpson Quinn Lawyers in 2024 after returning from study abroad in Vienna, Austria.

Brianna is in her final year at Queensland University of Technology studying a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (International Business). Brianna assists Redmond Jones with the firms litigation and dispute matters, which include commercial and contract disputes, building and construction law disputes, debt recovery and family law and de-facto matters.

In her spare time Brianna enjoys playing tennis and socialising with family and friends.
